Why would anybody want to lighten their skin. There are many answers to this, some of them very logical explained and others are medically approved. Let me ask you this question; why would anybody want to darken their skin. Could it be the same reason that somebody would want to lighten their skin?

Can we just mark this up as a natural psychological phenomenon? Perhaps there is something to this tone of color that we all try to achieve. People spend hours every day tanning in the tanning booths to reach a certain level of a darker color. In a sense they are frying their skin to get it to a tone of color that is more acceptable and aesthetically appealing. There are even products that you can spray on your skin to make you look darker temporarily. As we all know the doctors say this is not healthy for us and that we can get cancer from sitting out in the Sun too long. So, this is bad for us right, or is it?

Because I do not see anybody stopping going out in the Sun. If anything it is promoted to use sun tan lotion so you don't burn as much, hello, your still burning. Acceptable by society is a nice way of putting it. Slightly darker is actually very accepted in the society today almost encouraged.

So let's flip the coin, dark colored people trying to lighten their skin. Perception from the darker skinned folks is that they're trying to become more like the stereo type white person, whiter. I don't believe that is the case. I believe they're trying to do the same thing the same thing as those trying to dark in their skin.

There is an un-spoken societal feeling that gravitates towards the right tone of color. Let's just look at it logically, so white or colored skin people who get a little bit darker skin tone or a little lighter skin toned, what I wonder is if we were to do some statistics on this how much more of these folks got promotions and raises over those who didn't darken or lighten their skin.

Let's look at it in another lite. Does a white skin person look more handsome or pretty when they darken their skin? Do you think this would be the same for those with dark skin that lighten their skin that are now beautiful more beautiful and handsome? So what's the reverse issue of the darker skinned people lighting their skin. Perhaps it is because once the darker skinned persons lighten their skin it easier and healthier than what a white skinned person has to do.

There have been famous people who had a skin disease that made the skin lighter that come from a dark skinned family. Look at all the ridicule that these people have gotten. My thoughts are that everybody wants to get to a certain place where we are as beautiful as we can be. Let's move on to other situations that might involve skin whitening. There are light colored skin people who have a ton of freckles which looks like they could almost be a dark skinned person so they are almost half of each. These people might want to lighten the areas that the blemishes are on or where the freckles are showing up, that's keeping their true beauty from showing through. Remember this is my own logical thoughts, basically my own opinion on this but when looking around and seeing the behaviors of the world. I do not think I am too far off.
